At site b4 in Minnesota's Cascade River State Park 10/23/05-10/24/05. Just outside of Grand Marais this park is not only pretty for a visit, but makes a good homebase for exploring Minnesota's North Shore.

the people who routinely commit the hand dryer vandalism of "push butt, rub hands under arm" seem to have camped at minnesota's cascade river state park.
at least that's what i think this cairn means, just off artist's point in grand marais, mn.
according to superiortrails.com, the beaver house is the place to get fishing lures.

that's the wanderwagen tailgate on the right. the syncro on the left is one sharp westy. this is at the grand portage national monument stockade parking lot, which was pretty cool in its own interpretive, informative way.
that's the highest waterfall in minnesota aptly named...wait for it..."the high falls". the falls are a nice punctuation to a pleasant walk through grand portage state park.

he had me off the line and kept it punched on lutsen mountain's alpine slide. the chairlift ride was just as cool as the slide down.
parked on the road to wild country maple syrup sugar bush. taking the caribou trail out of lutsen, mn was the most colorful part of the trip. the road is mostly packed dirt and gravel, which kept the traffic down. some really nice superior national forest campsites on this loop.
