sure, there could be shade. we purchased and installed a fiamma f45. at 8 ft wide and up to 6 ft 6 inches long when opened, we essentially added a lovely covered - but open - space to the westy. it was the only thing cindy really wanted for the camper... what could i say? no?
and look at how good this looks:
ooohhh
ahhhhhh
it takes almost nothing to deploy and retract.
i can easily see how this could become a favorite mod. fwiw i'm very pleased with the shade, the case color, and the fabric. from the gowesty web site the color swatch looked a bit wavy and bluish, but when we opened the awning i was pleased to see it was a sort of denimed grey color that wasn't too much grey with the wolfram-colored westy. there's one troubleshooting issue with the left end of the case during rollup, but i already have a note in to fiamma's u.s. office so i'm not worried.
details, tech:
- the awning is the deluxe gray fabric 8 ft model, in a titanium colored case.
- i used three of the gowesty mounting brackets for stability. they're sold in packs of two, but if i did it again i'd still use three.
- we installed the awning according to the instructions - which were visual only - but slowly and carefully. it is a simple a job if you have the right tools on hand (make that four hands, we had two people and that was just right) and take your time.
the best part? it is going to be easy to enjoy. naps in the shade, folks, naps in the shade.
