I spent a few days working (boy, do I have it rough) at the 10,000 Lakes Festival. The westy served as my private room at night and a mobile media office for me and my coworkers during the day between July 22nd and July 26th 2009.
Pulled onto the ridge in the VIP campground. That's the back of the main stage on the left of the picture. Imagine the sound... from the stage. Then imagine the music from the surrounding camps - including the last night when I had bagpipes to the left of me and bongos to the right. But b-sounds aside, there was actual work to be done.
Observe The Current's Lindsay Kimball, who blogged at the Battleship-type laptop set-up. As the festival grounds filled, so did our cooperatively built camp area. Let's take a look:
Annnnnnnndddddd the camp filled in a leeeetle bit around the little van. While on the grounds I spotted a custom-painted splittie...
and a 73 bay with original paint.
I missed a chance to meet Samba-ite Joe T. and his subie-powered Weekender...since he was napping in it.
